Yes. This. So this. I don't really know Keith Olbermann. I've heard of him, but I don't watch his show. But I really respect him now. Because wow. Just... WOW.





I actually heard about this from Ellen. I just happened to be at home today when she mentioned it on her show. I love Ellen!

Gay is the new Black

My unbridled optimism from last night's stunning landslide breakthrough of one of the more vile aspects of this country and its history was quickly tempered by sadness this morning at the realization that we still have so much further to go.


Please go read Kate's post on this. She so accurately conveys exactly what I'm feeling that I don't believe I could say it any better.


To all those in California and elsewhere, whom this will unjustly discriminate against: My heart is heavy for you today. But do not lose hope - I haven't. Today was not the right day, but (as Portly personally conveys) we have come so far and will keep fighting until the right day comes.

Overwhelmed

Dear Bloggy Bloggerton,


I want to apologize if you have been feeling rather neglected lately. It has nothing at all to do with you - it has been all me.


I could give you the usual excuses... I've been busy at work, have a lot going on in my life right now, didn't pay the internet bill, etc... but the truth is that with 95% of news being election or politics oriented for the last few weeks, I haven't been able to come up with many coherent thoughts to write about.


Most of my reactions to current events have been one of the following: 1) What???; 2) WTF???; 3) Seriously???; 4) That's a joke right???; or (most used) 5) I know - I must've fallen into some sort of warped other dimension. Now how the F do I get home??


But, THANKFULLY, today it is all over. Good has triumphed over evil (at least for now) and hopefully life will somewhat get back to normal. There will be lots of fun and interesting things to read and write about and I will make more time to spend with you again.


I have really missed you. Your absence has definitely made my heart grow fonder, and I can't wait to see where we go from here.

Tonight, we are all a part of history. And I did my part in helping to make it happen. I have never had more pride in my country or more hope for our future than I do tonight.
